The Seton Hall University fire forever changed the lives of Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons. In January 2000, students set fire to a bulletin board in a residence hall at Seton Hall University. The result was a fire that killed three students and injured over 50 more. Two roommates who were injured, Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons, had a documentary called After the Fire made about their recovery and the subsequent trial for the two residents who set the fire and they now travel the country to share their story and how the events of that night changed their lives. This event is part of the annual Campus Safety Awareness Week. More information can be found here: http://www.tamu.edu/emergency/safetyweek/ |
