Description: |
While academic advisors are fiercely committed to promoting academic success for all students, many have never received instruction in evidence-based learning strategies. Join us to learn about a campus-wide initiative to support student learning focused on the Three Ms for Effective Learning - mindset, metacognition, and memory - concepts distilled from decades of research in cognitive science. Attendees will learn about empirically supported strategies that they can utilize to promote students' academic success. Attendees will also learn how about the various ways in which academic advisors have woven the Three Ms into distinct components of student success advising. Attendees will leave this session with actionable resources to share on their campus with students and colleagues. |
