Description: Your teaching can do more than support student learning. Through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), faculty can generate evidence for teaching effectiveness, explore solutions to instructional challenges, contribute to scholarship, and grow professionally. This interactive lunch-and-learn introduces the foundations of SoTL and highlights how faculty are using it to strengthen their teaching and scholarly impact.
Participants will learn about the STYLE SoTL Certificate Program and available resources, including the SoTL Lab and the IDEATE faculty community. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify opportunities to use SoTL to enhance learning and maximize the impact of their teaching.
This Lunch-and-Learn session includes a complimentary lunch provided by the Center for Teaching Excellence.

Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to…

1) Connect teaching questions and challenges to potential SoTL opportunities.
2) Identify benefits of engaging with Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
3) Discover CTE resources and a faculty community that support faculty engaging in SoTL.
4)Construct a SoTL Idea Map that translates a teaching challenge into a potential scholarly project
