| Description: |
What if you had an assistant that knew your course, understood your grading policies, answered students' general questions, or helped them engage with course materials? Welcome to Gemini Gems, Google's AI that you can design to act as specialized assistant for your courses and workflows. In this hands-on workshop, you will build your own Gem from the ground up.
You will learn how to design a custom assistant, upload course-specific resources such as your syllabus and instructional materials and refine your Gem's instructions and persona to align with your teaching goals. By the end of the session, you will leave with a fully functional, personalized AI assistant. Please bring a laptop and a few digital documents you use frequently (a syllabus, course lectures, or a grading rubric).
This Lunch-and-Learn session includes a complimentary lunch provided by the Center for Teaching Excellence.
Learning Outcomes: Participants
will be able to…
1) Identify instructional possibilities of custom AI assistants.
2) Design a customized Gemini Gem.
3) Evaluate the Gem's responses and refine its performance. |
