| Description: |
True workforce readiness requires more than technical competency—modern employers are actively seeking graduates who can navigate ambiguity, collaborate across differences, and solve complex community challenges. In fact, the AAC&U national employer report (The Agility Imperative) reveals that 76% of employers are more likely to hire graduates with community-based project experience, and 94% view citizenship development and workforce preparation as a single, unified goal.
This introductory session explores how service-learning bridges the gap between student career readiness and real-world problem-solving. We will examine how to conceptualize service-learning partnerships that are deeply reciprocal, mutually beneficial, and sustainable for both faculty and community stakeholders. This foundational workshop is designed to pique your interest and shift your perspective. You will leave with a clear roadmap and direct access to CTE consultation support.
Learning Outcomes: Participants
will be able to…
1) Identify key components of reciprocal service-learning partnerships that align with workforce readiness. |
