| Description: |
This workshop explores how to design and facilitate small group projects that empower students to manage their own team dynamics, workflows, and internal conflicts. Moving beyond generic project guidelines, participants will examine evidence-based strategies to help student teams self-diagnose and self-correct using vetted, classroom-ready working style inventories and peer charters. We will address common pain points—such as free-riders, communication breakdowns, and grading friction—by introducing modular, just-in-time tools that can be deployed immediately to course-correct current groups or archived to launch seamless collaboration next semester.
Faculty will walk away with access to a pre-organized digital toolkit containing plug-and-play communication templates, workflow matrices, and student-led escalation protocols designed to shift the instructor's role from group referee to strategic consultant.
Learning Outcomes: Participants
will be able to…
1) Design student peer charters and escalation/deescalation protocols to reduce instructor conflict management. |
