| Description: |
Fourth in a series of workshops for graduate students, post-docs, and visiting scholars whose primary language is not English. This interactive workshop demonstrates comprehension checks and body language that reinforces the speaker's message. It promotes comprehensible speech with pauses at appropriate places.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to:
1. Brainstorm some ways to check for audience comprehension.
2. Identify gestures that reinforce the speaker's message.
3. Select appropriate places to pause in a text, based on grammatical structure. |
