| Description: |
First in a series of workshops for graduate students, post-docs, and visiting scholars whose primary language is not English. This interactive workshop introduces the series and key features of American English pronunciation (intonation). It encourages instructors to make a positive first impression on their students with a self-introduction speech on the first day of class.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to develop a self-introduction that conveys your knowledge, approachability, and passion for your subject, using effective volume, rate, and poise. |
