Description: Reflection is a cornerstone of high-impact learning, yet many faculty struggle with how to design reflective writing assignments that go beyond surface-level responses. This workshop introduces participants to the theory and practice of reflective pedagogy, including models such as the DEAL model (Describe, Examine, Articulate Learning).

Participants will hear from faculty colleagues and explore prompts, scaffolding techniques, and assessment strategies that foster critical thinking, self-awareness, and integrative learning. Faculty will leave with sample assignments and rubrics tailored to their disciplinary context.

Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to…

1) Describe best practices for designing and implementing reflective writing assignments.
