| Description: |
This workshop focuses on two key areas of digital accessibility: PDF documents and Canvas course design. PDF files are often the most challenging materials to remediate, and participants will explore common accessibility issues found in PDFs while practicing with Adobe Acrobat’s built-in accessibility checker. The session will also introduce accessibility tools in Canvas, including the platform’s accessibility checker and the Ally report.
Participants will learn how to interpret accessibility feedback, apply recommended fixes, and improve the overall accessibility of their course content.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to...
1. Identify common accessibility issues found in PDF documents and explain why they create barriers for learners.
2. Use Adobe Acrobat’s accessibility checker to evaluate and remediate PDF files.
3. Apply accessibility best practices within Canvas, including the use of the platform’s accessibility checker.
4. Interpret Ally reports and implement recommended improvements to enhance the accessibility of course materials |
