| Description: |
Grammatical errors can hinder successful spoken communication. In academic settings, the passive voice is often used to explain procedures, report actions, and emphasize outcomes rather than agents. In this workshop, attendees will review and practice the passive voice in realistic teaching scenarios, such as clarifying policies and describing classroom and laboratory processes. An optional assignment for extended practice will be available on Canvas.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to ...
1. Identify common teaching contexts in which the passive voice is preferred for clarity, formality, or focus.
2. Accurately produce the passive voice when explaining procedures, policies, and processes. |
