| Description: |
Third in a series of workshops for international graduate students, faculty, post-docs, and visiting scholars. This interactive workshop demonstrates comprehension checks and body language that reinforces the speaker's message. It promotes comprehensible speech with pauses at appropriate places.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to:
1. Brainstorm some ways to check for audience comprehension.
2. Identify gestures that reinforce the speaker's message.
3. Select appropriate places to pause in a text, based on grammatical structure. |
