Description: |
Participation and discussion are crucial to the college classroom. They foster critical thinking, promote active learning, encourage collaboration, and build students' confidence and sense of belonging. This workshop will explore the role of participation and discussion in enhancing learning. It will highlight effective instructional strategies and approaches to help students become more engaged and confident in sharing and discussing ideas in the classroom.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to…
1. Discuss the nature of participation and discussion in the college classroom.
2. Distinguish between communication and interaction methods, namely dialogue, discussion, and debate.
3. Discuss a variety strategies and approaches that encourage active participation and meaningful discussion among students. |
