Description:
In today's rapidly evolving world, students are exposed to increasingly complex and constantly changing information. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills play pivotal roles in helping them effectively and efficiently make informed decisions. However, the critical thinking process can often be seen as a mystery. This session focuses on defining critical thinking and the assumptions related to the process of thinking. Additionally, it will explore cognitive biases that impact decisions and actions. Lastly, the session will discuss some common challenges to fostering critical thinking in the classroom and will also explore strategies that instructors can use to guide and engage students in authentic learning that can improve their thinking and decision-making processes.
