Today’s university classrooms are the most diverse in history. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can play an integral role in supporting student success. UDL is a framework and approach to teaching and learning that focuses on maximizing learning for every student. It utilizes proactive, inclusive, and equitable strategies that recognize and harness the power of students’ identities, cultures, experiences, abilities and disabilities, and demographic characteristics. UDL strives to help every learner feel valued, represented, and respected in the learning process. This interactive session will provide participants with an overview of UDL and practical ways to implement it.
