Session 1: Authorship vs. Inventorship - 11:30a-12:30p
The recognition of hard work for a lot of university researchers is authorship on a scientific publication. When research results in novel and useful discoveries, faculty and staff may also seek commercial recognition and disclose these inventions to their technology transfer offices to protect the intellectual property. The distinction between authorship and inventorship is subtle, but very important - this presentation will help you understand the difference between the two, and why that difference is so important.
Session 2: Patenting in Life Sciences - 1:00p-2:30p
Patenting and innovation trends in the life sciences is everchanging and it can sometimes be hard to keep up. |
