Description: |
“Lots of times they do not pay:” Understanding wage-theft and resistance in Bryan, Texas.
Based on 196 surveys of day laborers in Bryan, TX, from 2012 to 2020, this
research examines the work conditions of Latinx, Black, and White men who
seek employment on day labor corners. Wages, labor violations, and how
workers resist maltreatment and exploitation have been reported in this
study.
Presented by professor of Sociology Dr. Nancy Plankey-Videla and doctoral
candidate Cynthia Luz Franco Cisneros. |
