Description: Diversity, inclusion, and equity are values espoused by institutions of higher education across the country/world, and university initiatives in support of these values have been developed to address concerns. More locally, faculty may ask themselves about the value of diversity in their teaching… what role does it have to play in my classroom? In my discipline? We may hear calls to be inclusive and not know how to apply these philosophies in our day-to-day teaching of statistics, research methods, or general chemistry. In this session, participants will encounter the research behind inclusive teaching efforts, encounter and discuss examples of inclusive pedagogy, and will be encouraged to articulate these values in teaching impact statements and/or diversity statements to be included on syllabi.
