Description: |
Join us as we explore the process of selecting learning experiences that captivate students and foster deeper learning. This session will guide you through identifying what students need to do—such as create, compare, read, watch, practice, or solve—to achieve learning outcomes. Students are more likely to engage actively when accountability, relevance, transparency, sequencing, and feedback are addressed alongside the scope of content. We’ll define these concepts and showcase examples from both traditional and digital classrooms. Additionally, discover various Canvas tools that can facilitate these engaging learning experiences.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to...
1. Select 1-2 learning experiences for a course to replace or extend a current practice.
2. Generate new approaches balancing learner needs with situational factors.
Summarize the different components of the course design process. |
