As a Teaching Assistant (TA) in a laboratory setting, your role extends beyond simply assisting with experiments and grading. This workshop is designed to equip graduate students with essential skills for facilitating engaging and effective lab sessions. Whether you’re new to TA responsibilities or seeking to enhance your existing skills, this workshop will provide practical strategies and insights.
Participants will:
- Explore the TA’s role in supporting student learning, fostering curiosity, and promoting scientific inquiry
- Discover methods to encourage students to actively engage in lab activities.
- Discuss questioning techniques that promote critical thinking and discussion.
- Learn how to facilitate group work effectively and encourage collaboration among students. |
