Description: This interactive working session focuses on designing effective and equitable instruction to maximize learning and engagement for every student. Participants will learn more about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles which consider many different factors when it comes to the design and delivery of instructional materials (e.g. student diversity, learner variability, the learning environment, teaching practices, student identity, etc). UDL is a proactive approach for meeting the needs of all learners and serves as a framework to address common barriers students face when learning. This workshop is a collaboration between The Center for Teaching Excellence, Disability Services, AgriLife Extension and the College of Liberal Arts. Please bring mobile devices, copies of your syllabus and samples of instructional resources—digital format or printed—to the session as participants will have an opportunity to apply UDL principles into their own materials and courses.
