Description: |
The challenge of keeping students engaged and motivated is common across disciplines and all types of courses (e.g., recitations, labs, lectures). Instruction without attention to student motivation and engagement can stymie the learning process, frustrating both instructors and students. This workshop will discuss approaches supporting student motivation and engagement in the various instructional roles held by teaching assistants. Specifically, teaching assistants will be able to hear from a panel of peer instructors who have successfully implemented teaching strategies promoting motivation and engagement in their lab, recitation, and lecture-based courses. |
