Description: Collaborating effectively with diverse classmates can be one of the most challenging and complex—yet crucial---tasks students engage in academically and professionally. Come learn some of the best practices and approaches to supporting students working together on medium- and long-term small group projects. This interactive session examines how careful planning and timely intervention can prevent a small group from failing. Participants will learn practical and proactive approaches to creating group assignments and will also explore strategies that support effective small groups to maximize student learning, group accountability, and project success. Participants will 1. Identify effective approaches to support student groups 2. Identify best practices in designing and implementing small group assignments and assessments
