Description: |
Description: This session will explore the process of selecting learning experiences that will engage students and promote deeper learning. This process begins by identifying/selecting what students need to do – create, compare, read, watch, practice, solve, etc. - to achieve learning outcomes. Students are more likely to actively engage in learning opportunities when accountability, relevance, transparency, sequencing, and feedback are addressed along with scope of content. The session defines these areas and explores examples for traditional and digital classrooms. We will explore different tools in Canvas that can be used to facilitate learning experiences.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants will...
1. Design 1-2 learning experiences for a course to replace or extend a current practice.
2. Generate new approaches balancing learner needs with situational factors.
3. Summarize the different components of the course design process. |
